1. My spine helps stand me straight
Capturing the caught is my calling
Whether it be a candle of heaven or its reflection
Or the sea-like silhouette of swaying souls
In my belly these things are laying
The image in my tummy is always filled
With the whitest of thirty horses on a red hill.
I have lots of appearances just as you,
Constructed to compliment and hired to claque
Constructed to compliment and hired to claque
What lies in my belly only my owner may say.
2. I lay in the lap of those who laugh
Joking, jesting, and jiving
Catching the affection of all around
Touch me, hear me, press me, see me
From my brain beneath my belly
I roar and twinkle to catch your attention
Wild, wonderful, enter the world in another dimension
Talk to me, and I’ll talk right back
Keep me on your sea-bench,
I am the human-thane, at the mercy of your thumbs.
Awake you I will, turn me off and I am still.
